Galerie Mont Church in Cassone – Gustav Klimt^ Klimt

Painted by Gustav Klimt on the shores of Lake Garda in Italy, this work is one of the most beautiful landscapes known to the master of the Viennese Secession. Square in format, it is a model of its kind with its composition without perspective, its subtle harmony of green, blue and yellow, its intimate atmosphere close to a small pointillist jewel. It is the only survivor of the three landscapes that the artist painted during his stay in Italy.
