Composition VIII is one of the sensational abstract paintings by Vassily Kandinsky. All the elements are as if suspended in the space of the painting. Here he applies his concept of color and form correspondences: the warm yellow and the cold blue function as two fundamental zones, the circular form in the left corner, black and silent, is warmed up by the surrounding red, and the contrasting geometrical forms give this work a static effect.
