This work, meaning “When are you getting married?”, was painted in Tahiti in 1892 by Paul Gauguin. It depicts two young Tahitian women sitting in a tropical landscape. Sold for 7 francs at the artist’s death, it was purchased for $300 million in 2015, making it one of the most expensive works of art in the world.
