In this work, Piet Mondrian dissects his subject into countless segments. The initial structure of the silver tree is barely recognizable. This creates a living structure of horizontal and vertical, straight and slightly curved lines and gray and ochre surfaces. The composition is built up from the middle and the shapes fade towards the edges.
