Galerie Mont The Bay of Estaque – Paul Cézanne^ Cézanne

It was around 1885 that Paul Cézanne painted this bird’s eye view of an impressive natural setting: the bay of Estaque, northwest of Marseille. The small impressionnist oil on canvas shows the blue hues of the sky and the Mediterranean Sea. In the foreground of the work are the reddish roofs and long chimneys of the houses.
