Galerie Mont The Still Life with Gingerpot II – Piet Mondrian^ Mondrian

This is the second version of “Still Life with Ginger Pot”, done in the summer of 1912 after Piet Mondrian moved to Paris. There is the same turquoise pot in the middle, with more or less the same type of pots and glasses grouped around it. But the role these objects play in the painting has fundamentally changed, marking a definitive transition in Mondrian’s cubist work.
