The Water Lilies is a series of about 250 paintings, representing the flower garden and more particularly Claude Monet’s water lily pond in Giverny. The work is bathed in dark emerald green, punctuated by round, sulphurous and light purple touches. The concentration of the landscape in a small space allows to draw all the intensity. In a way, the artist operates a double focus, both on the abyssal depth of the water and on what floats on the surface.
